Winchester

This consignment offering is one of the descendants of the Wichester Model 1873.  Winchester produced these rifles from 1963 to 1973 but, because the serial numbers of the series were not consecutive, there's no accurate way to date this specific one.  What we can say is that it's a beautiful rifle that has been well-maintained and would be a great add to almost any collection.

As with all of our consignment guns, we have not test-fired this rifle.  However, it passes all function checks and we find no mechanical issues to note.  As with all used guns, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with its condition.

The 20.5" barrel is extremely bright and the rifling is good.  The bore is good.  The muzzle crown is good and has no nicks or dents.  Rifle has the standard push-button safety.  It is fed by a tube magazine and will accept .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 Long Rifle.  The checkered wood stock with pistol grip is in excellent condition with only a couple of small dings.  The most noticeable of these is on the lower, rearward portion of the buttstock.  The metal retains almost all of its original finish with only a few slight blemishes from normal use.  The original Winchester butt pad is in very good condition.  The action is smooth.  The trigger has a slight takeup, followed by a clean, crisp break.

In short, this is a classic rifle that is in overall excellent condition.  Whether it's the first rifle for a young shooter or a way for an older adult to think back on their own childhood, this is a beautiful Model 250.
