The Winchester Model 1890 was Winchester's first pump action repeater and another of John Browning's many designs.  This was the original "gallery gun".

We believe this consignment rifle to be a third model takedown version and, based on the serial number of 643733, was likely manufactured in 1920.  It is chambered for .22 Long and the calibers of these rifles are not interchangeable.  In other words, don't fire a .22 Short or .22 Long Rifle in this model.  The octagonal barrel is 24 inches long, has an adjustable rear sight and a fixed front sight.

The forearm is missing.  Working the action returns the hammer to the 1/4 cock position, which should not happen.  The stock has a crack at the rear of the tang on both the top and the bottom.  Most finish has been lost to age and there is a decent amount of surface oxidation.  The bore is dark.

This is, without a doubt, a project gun but a very neat piece of history that could be restored with time and effort.

Purchase is for the rifle only.  No case.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test-fired the rifle.  We have performed our function checks and there are items to note that are mentioned above.  As with all used firearm purchases, please view the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the firearm.

Determined at checkout.
