This Walther PPK comes to us as a consignment sale. Its serial number of 791461 would indicate pre-WW II production in 1933.
Like all of the pistols of this type, ours has a 3.25 inch barrel and operates in both double and single action modes. A manual safety is on the left side of the frame. It also functions as a decocker. The grips are brown plastic, which appear to be period-correct.
The metal is a blued finish. The sights are fixed. The bore is good and the barrel is bright. Rifling appears to be strong.
See the photos of the slide for the German markings. We did not see any apparent proofmarks.
The grips are in Excellent condition. The magazine has the finger extension and the Walther stamp on the left side of the magazine. The rear of the magazine has some light surface oxidation. The frame of the pistol is also in Excellent condition. The left side of the slide does have some finish loss, with one sizeable spot next to the model stamp. Please see the pictures to verify condition.
A leather holster with flap and storage for an extra magazine is included. We did not see any markings on the holster itself.
Overall, this is a very nice pre-war PPK with the left side of the slide being the only area that detracts from the overall appearance of the pistol. If you’re a fan of vintage PPK pistols, this one is definitely worth taking the time to look over.
Purchase is for the pistol as shown and the leather holster that is also shown.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this pistol. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
