Thompson Center

This is a very nice package that came to us with a few other consignment guns.  There are a lot of extras included with the purchase so please take the time to read through the list entirely.

This is a Thompson Center Contender, chambered in 256 Win Mag with a custom barrel, additional grip and forearm, TWO Leupold scopes and the dies and manual so that you can do your own reloading.

Thompson Center Contenders were manufactured from 1967 - 2000.  We're unable to specifically date this one but, based on the serial number, it likely comes from the second half of the production run.  Serial number is 453568.  Based on the original box, Thompson Center listed this as a model 2305.  The blued pistol has an engraved receiver, a break-open action and a trigger guard action lever.  The metal on the pistol is Like New.  The trigger is very light and very smooth.

The barrel is from Bullberry Barrel Works, is chambered for 256 Win Mag and is 14 inches long.  The barrel is extremely bright, the rifling is very crisp, the bore is clean and appears to have seen very few rounds fired through it..  The finish is Like New.  Bullberry Barrel Works has been making high quality custom barrels for these pistols since 1980 and has an outstanding reputation for quality work.

Scope #1 (the scope that is currently mounted on the pistol) is a Leupold Vari X III with 3.5 - 10 magnification.  Butler Creek lens caps protect each lens.  Removable caps cover the windage and elevation adjustment dials where each click is equal to 1/4 min.  The glass is very clear, just as you'd expect from a Leupold scope.  The finish is in Excellent condition with only one small scratch on the elevation adjustment cover.

Scope #2 (included but not mounted) is a Leupold Vari X II with scope rings.  Magnification is adjustable from 2-7.  The finish on this one does have some wear but the glass remains very clear.

Overall, we think this is an incredible package in outstanding condition.  You have a custom barrel, a highly accurate pistol, your choice of optics and choice of grip and forearm.  Candidly, the Leupold optics alone are an incredible value.  If you're a fan of these Contender pistols, this package will not disappoint.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consigments, we have not test-fired the pistol.  We have performed all function checks and find no issues to report.  As with all unsed firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
