Star

These Star pistols were a nice, interesting rimfire plinker that were manufactured by Star in Eibar, Spain.  They came in a variety of models manufactured at various points with the main differences being barrel length, sights and barrel styles.

We believe that this is the FR model, which would have it manufactured between 1967 and 1972.  It has a blued finish, fixed sights and plastic grips with a thumb rest on the left panel.  It's a single action pistol and a manual safety is on the left side.  The book says that the pistol has a 4 inch barrel but we measure this one at 4-3/8 inches.  The barrel is a really interesting feature on this one.  It's a squared-off style that gives the pistol a very unique, interesting look. 

The bluded finish on this Star is in Very Good condition.  The grips would rate as Very Good except that the right panel has a good amount of scuffing at the top side, just behind the trigger.  The photos will show that area.  The bore is clean and the barrel is bright.

Overall, this is a nice, interesting find in Good - Very Good condition that would be a fun addition to a collection!
