This Smith & Wesson comes to us as a consignment sale and has several extras that go with it. Serial number on our pistol is A882575. Based on the squared off trigger guard and the ambi safety, this is one of the later model 659 pistols and was likely manufactured between 1986 and 1989.
Like all of the model 659s, this one is chambered for 9mm, with a magazine capacity of 14. It has a four inch barrel, functions in double action or single action mode, has a squared-off trigger guard and fixed sights. The ambi safety also functions as a decocker. The black grips are half checkered and bear the Smith & Wesson logo.
The action on the pistol is smooth. The single action trigger is light and short. The double action trigger is . . . a double action trigger. The bore on this one is exceptionally clean. The barrel is bright and the rifling appears to be strong. The grips are in Very Good condition. The finish is in Excellent condition although there is one very minor scuff on the right side just above the trigger guard. It’s small and only visible in certain lights.
The Bianchi holster is in Very Good condition. The HKS magazine pouches are in Excellent condition.
This is a very nice, vintage Smith & Wesson pistol. All signs point toward very light use and it’s been well maintained. Whether you’re carrying this one in a holster or just using it at the range, it will catch a lot of attention, and for good reason. Take a look at the photos and see if you agree.
Purchase includes the pistol, Bianchi Cyclone leather belt loop holster with retention strap, HKS double magazine pouch (belt loop model), (3) 14 round magazines (two appear to be Smith & Wesson brand while one is a Ram Line model.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this pistol. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are completely comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
