This Sig Sauer P226 with Rail is a Law Enforcement trade-in and is chambered in .40S&W. We've field stripped the pistol but have not fired it. Function check is correct and we find no issues with the pistol. Serial number is U 693 932. See below regarding the lifetime guarantee. This pistol is Double Action/Single Action and features a decocker on the left side of the frame. The barrel is 4.4 inches and features an accessory rail underneath the barrel. The aluminum frame is a black Nitron. Magazine capacity is 12+1.
3 dot night sights are installed but have no glow. They do function, however as standard 3 dot sights.
Most of our Law Enforcement trade-ins come to us in pretty good condition and this one is no exception. The bore is clean and bright, the barrel is very bright and the rifling is crisp and strong. Crimson Trace laser grips are installed on the pistol but did not activate when we tried them. We have no way of knowing if the pistol left the factory with the grips installed or if they were added by the police department after delivery. In any case the appearance of the grips is Very Good with no evidence of wear. The slide is in Excellent condition. The frame is Very Good with just slight spots of finish loss at the edge of the rail, underneath the tripper guard and on the front side of the grip. Based on the condition of the pistol and our experience in seeing these LE trade-ins, this one was likely fired but certainly didn’t spend much time bouncing around in a holster.
Overall, we’d grade this pistol as Very Good and maybe even a bit better. There may be a few cosmetic blemishes as indicated but, mechanically, this pistol looks great. At this price and in this condition, it’s definitely worth a good look. As with all used firearms, please review all of the photos carefully so that you are thoroughly familiar with the condition of the pistol.
