Sig Sauer P226R Elite - .40S&W – Stainless – 12+1 – Amazing Condition – S/N XXX 550

This Sig Sauer P226R Elite is chambered in .40S&W.  This particular pistol is a consignment item and we have not fired the weapon.  From the looks of this pistol, no one has fired it a great deal.  Our seller indicates that he purchased the pistol in 2007.

Function check is correct.  The spring is very strong and feels like new.  The trigger in single action has a slight take up and then a light, crisp break.  The reset is short.  The trigger in double action feels as expected for a double action trigger.

3 dot night sights are installed, but are dim.  We’d rate them at less than 50% brightness, which would be consistent with the date of manufacture.  

This pistol comes with two sets of grips.  Hogue rubber grips are installed on the gun at present and show minimal, if any, wear,  Also included are the Sig rosewood grips for this pistol.  They are also in like new condition.

The barrel is bright and the rifling is strong.  There is marking on the finish at the takedown lever from normal cleaning.  There is minimal finish scuffing behind the decocking lever which we see on all Sig pistols with a decocker.  There is minimal finish loss on the barrel lug which is also common for this pistol.  We’d rate the overall condition of the finish at about 98%.  As with all used pistols, please review the photos carefully so that you can see the condition of the pistol.

Overall, we’d rate this pistol somewhere between Excellent+ and Near New.  It’s an absolutely beautiful pistol that’s in amazing condition.  The combination of the .40S&W chambering and the beautiful Stainless finish make this a hard to find model.  It’s certainly one that’s worth the investment and will be a great addition to your collection.

Pistol comes with:  (2) 12 round Sig Sauer magazines, the original Sig hard case, the two sets of grips mentioned above and the owner’s manual.
