Savage

This Savage Model 111 is a consignment sale and comes with a very nice Vortex Crossfire II 3-9 x 40 scope already mounted.  These 111 rifles are good running rifles but were designed to fit within most budgets.  Over the years they were offered with a variety of different scopes but we like this Vortex model.

Our rifle is chambered in the flat-shooting, popular .270 Win.  It has a 22 inch barrel and wears serial number G722828.  Rounds feed via an internal magazine.  The rifle fearturs adjustable open sights in the event that you wanted to remove the scope.  A 3-position tang safety sits at the rear of the receiver.

The trigger is light, smooth and breaks cleanly.  The action moves smoothly.  The checkered walnut stock is mostly in Very Good condition with the exception of a scratch on the left side, just above the trigger.  We've shown that in one of the photos.  The solid recoil pad is in excellent condition.  The vast majority of the metal finish is also in Very Good condition but there are some freckles of finish loss that are primarily on the top and right side of the barrel.  The barrel is bright and the rifling is strong.  The bore is clean and bright.  The crown and muzzle are in excellent condition and free of any nicks or chips.

The Vortex Crossfire II 3-9 x 40 scope is in Excellent condition and the glass is clear and bright.  The adjustment knobs and focus move freely.  These scopes are affordably priced but we like the way that they operate.  It's a nice addition on the rifle.

Overall, this is a very solid rifle that looks good and does not appear to have seen heavy use.  It's got a lot of life in it and won't break the bank to purchase.  If you're looking for an accurate 270 Win to add to the collection, this one is worth checking out.
