Ruger

This Near Mint Ruger M77 is part of a large collection of firearms that we have been selling on consignment for quite a while now.  Many of the firearms in this collection have been absolutely pristine and this rifle is another one of them.

This particular Ruger M77 is chambered in the very versatile, light recoiling 257 Roberts.  It’s a very fast round that’s great for taking care of varmints with lighter bullets but with the ability to take pretty sizeable game with heavier projectiles.  Our serial number is 75-05414.  The original owner (our customer's grandfather) purchased this rifle new in 1981 and, based on our knowledge of the M77 serial numbers, that would likely be the year of manufacture as well.  We think that this one still looks like it just came out of the box.  It’s that nice. 

It has a 22 inch barrel, no sights and integral scope bases.  Metal finish is a beautiful blued, the stock is a checkered walnut and the Ruger red rubber buttpad helps absorb the already limited amount of recoil.  A black cap with Ruger medallion is on the pistol grip.  The five round magazine is of the hinged floorplate variety.  Safety is mounted at the top of the tang.

The bore is minty, the barrel is mirror-bright and the rifling looks like new.  The bolt action is smooth and the trigger is crisp with no takeup.  The crown of the muzzle is perfect with no nicks.  The very attractive walnut stock is Near Mint.  The blued metal finish is Like New.  The Ruger buttpad is Like New as well.

There’s no guarantee, of course, but we doubt that this rifle has been fired.  Even if we’re wrong, the round count has to be incredibly low.  The entire rifle looks Like New.  If you’re in the market for a classic M77 rifle, take a good look at this one.  We don’t think that you’ll find another one in better condition.
