This consignment sale is a really nice example of an early model Ruger Mark I Target pistol. The .22LR caliber pistol comes with a 6-7/8" heavy tapered barrel, a manual safety and a magazine capacity of 9+1. Speaking of magazines, there are an additional (2) 9 round Ruger magazines that are still in the original Ruger cardboard boxes. A very nice bit of extra history to go along with the pistol. Serial number on this one is 313288.
The rear target sight is adjustable, the front sight is fixed. The pistol carries black plastic grips that contain a silver medallion with the black Ruger eagle. The grips have minor wear. The trigger is fantastic! A very light, very crisp trigger that's perfect for target shooting. The barrel is bright and the rifling is good. Some carbon is evident in the chamber, as would be expected in a .22 caliber handgun. We applied a small bit of cleaner to test and it started to clean up with minimal effort.
The barrel and frame finish would rate as very good with only a couple of small spots of finish loss. There are a couple of pin-prick sized spots on the left side of the frame, just forward of the trigger. These are small enough that they may not even show in the pictures. There is also a spot of finish loss measuring approximately 1/4" x 1/2" that is on the right side of the frame, just forward of the serial number.
Overall, we would rate this pistol as very good and think that it's a really nice version of the Mark I that would be a great addition to a collection!
Included in the purchase: Mark I Target pistol, (2) additional 9 round Ruger magazines that are still in the original Ruger box for a total of 3 magazines and a zippered, padded, suede leather case.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignment guns, we have not test fired the pistol. We have performed all function checks and find no issues. Like all used firearm purchases, you should carefully check all of the photos so that you are comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
