Ruger

This Ruger New Model Blackhawk revolver is convertible between 45 Colt and 45 ACP.  It is single action only, has a 4-5/8" barrel, a blued finish and has a capacity of 6 shots.  Ruger states that this particular revolver was manufactured in, approximately, 1979.  We belive that this gun either is, or is similar to, Ruger Model 0446.  As this is a consignment offering, we have not fired this gun but have inspected and function tested the gun.  We find no issues in those checks.

Ruger convertible revolvers come with two cylinders.  The front face of each cylinder is either engraved or etched with the last three digits of the revolver that matches those cylinders.  This gun comes with both cylinders and the serial numbers show as being paired with this revolver.

Action on this handgun is silky smooth and the trigger is very light and crisp.  Timing is good on all cylinders and the lockup is tight.  The ejector rod is straight, works as intended and has a strong return spring.  The rear sight is adjustable and the front sight is fixed.  Pachmayr rubber grips on installed and show minor wear.

There is minor handling or holster wear on the loading gate.  The cylinder shows minimal evidence of use.  Finish on the frame and barrel is estimated at 98%.  The barrel is bright and the rifling is strong.  Our inspection leads us to believe that, while this gun has been fired, it has a very low round count.

Overall, we'd rate this revolver in very good to near mint condition and think that it's a great example of a hard to find model.  As with all used guns, please inspect the photos carefully to fully acquaint yourself with the condition of this firearm.
