The Remington 870 and all of its many variations is probably one of the popular shotguns of all time. That's for good reason. It's reliable, well built and simple to operate. The 870 has been used in the U.S. military, with police departments across the country, for home defense and, of course, with great success in bird hunting.
This consignment shotgun wears serial number B531871M and we believe that the barrel code is "F". The stamp on the barrel was just a bit difficult to make out. This 12 Gauge Express Magnum will handle 2-3/4" or 3" shells and has a capacity of 4+1. It has a 28" vent rib barrel and a single bead sight. There is one choke installed in the gun that we have not removed. Most likely, it's a modified choke as that's typically what shipped with this model.
The metal on these had a parkerized finish, a matte finish hardwood stock and a solid recoil pad.
The action on this one is smooth, as is the trigger. It has Very Good, attractive wood with signs of only light, honest use. The metal finish also rates as Very Good with no significant defects. The Remington recoil pad is Good with no cracks or splits. It has a good, clean bore.
Overall, this is a nicely maintained, classic looking 870 Express Magnum. If you like this model as much as we do and are looking for a reliable hunting shotgun, take a good look at this one. It's affordable and ready to head to the field with you or the next generation of hunter that's just getting started.
Purchase includes the shotgun and one choke only.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this shotgun. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the shotgun.
