Remington

This consignment sale shotgun looks like it just came out of a time capsule.  It's an 870 Wingmaster Magnum and it came to us as part of a large collection of vintage, beautiful firearms.  We've probably seen 40 or more of the guns from this collection and they've invariably been beautiful, rare examples of "the way they used to make them".  This one is no different.

This particular gun rolled out of the Remingon factory in 1981.  According to the owner (who's been very accurate about everything he's told us on the firearms from this collection), this one is unfired since his grandfather purchased it.  It's absolutely beautiful!

The 12 gauge pump action shotgun incorporates twin slide rails, has a 3 inch chamber and comes with a 30 inch vent rib, full choke barrel.  A bead front sight sits at the end of the barrel.  Serial number is V397548M.  The walnut, gloss stock and forearm are checkered with a fleur de lis design.  A duck medallion sits in the cap of the grip.  The checkering has no wear.  There are no scratches on the stock although there are very slight storage marks on the right side of the stock.  We'd still grade the wood as Near Mint.  The Remington pad shows no wear and is Like New.  The metal finish on the receiver and barrel are Like New.

Overall, we find this shotgun to be an amazingly well-preserved Wingmaster and absolutely Near Mint.  They truly don't make them like this any more.  If you want a Near Mint vintage 870 Wingmaster Magnum, we think that this is one that you're going to want to take a good long look at.

Purchase includes the shotgun and a zippered padded case with sleeves for two shotgun barrels.
