The New Haven brand was a Mossberg brand that was sold to department stores (primarily Montgomery Wards) under the New Haven name. The New Haven 600 was, essentially, the same shotgun as the Mossberg 500. The “ET” designation indicates that it is the 410 Gauge model. This model was produced from 1977 – 1998. Based on our serial number of H430036, we believe that our shotgun was produced in the early 1980s.
The 26 inch barrel is a Full choke and has a single bead front sight. There is a tang-mounted safety at the rear of the receiver. This model will handle up to 3 inch shells. The stock is a checkered wood stock with a solid buttplate.
The wood is in Excellent condition and shows very few marks. Likewise, the metal finish is almost entirely intact and we’d list it as Excellent also. The bore is clean and the barrel is bright. We see very little wear on either the action bar or the magazine tube which, to us, indicates very limited use.
The department store branded firearms, for the most part, are not high end, high priced models. Instead, they were designed to be affordable versions of the model on which they were based. That’s the case here. This 600ET is an affordably priced 410 Gauge version of the Mossberg 500. It’s affordable, it’s in great condition, looks nice and likely has many years of use left in it. If those characteristics sound good to you, consider adding the well-cared-for shotgun to your collection.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this shotgun. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report.
