Mossberg

This Mossberg 500A 12 Gauge pump shotgun with 3 inch chamber came to us as a consignment sale.  The serial number of T118018 indicates likely production in 2007.

The 28 inch vent rib barrel is also ported on this model.  The barrel features Mossberg's Accu-choke system.  Front and mid-length bead sights help line up your shot.

Twin action bars guide the pump action and the action is smooth.  Metal finish on the barrel and receiver is blued.  This one features the gold trigger as well.  A tang mounted safety sits on top at the rear of the receiver.  The finish on the receiver is Excellent and has no scratches.  There are a few spots of very light surface oxidation at the top of the barrel, just below the rib but we see no significant issues.  The bore is clean and bright and the barrel is very bright.

The walnut stock has some light handling and storage marks but still rates as Excellent.  The brown recoil pad is excellent as well.

Overall, we'd grade the shotgun as Very Good.  The gun appears to be lightly used and, as an affordable, softer shooting 12 Gauge, it would be hard to go wrong at this price.  This one is ready for the field and has a whole lot of useful life in it.  Should reliably last you for about as long as you'd like to use it.
