Molot

This hard to find, pre-ban RussianMolot VEPR comes to us as a consignment sale.  It wears serial number 0153 and it’s noticeably more solid and much sturdier than the typical AK rifle that we see come into the shop.  A little bit about the manufacturer:

Molot-Oruzhiye OOO is a Russian firearms and firearms accessories manufacturer. Established in 1941 as Vyatskie Polyany Machine-Building Plant, Molot was the main producer of PPSh-41 machine guns used by Russian forces in World War II. From 1961 to 1978, the RPK (Ruchnoy Pulemjot Kalashnikova) hand-held light machine gun was manufactured in the Molot factory. The RPK was designed to improve upon the initial AK-47 design by increasing its effective range and accuracy, enhance its rate of fire, and strengthen the receiver. Some of these features include a heavier chrome lined barrel, improved front sights and gas block.  The receiver was beefed up by using stamped steel rather than the sheet metal used in the standard AKM rifles.  Today, Molot is a world leading manufacturer of sport and hunting firearms. They created the VEPR line of civilian sporting rifles based off the RPK platform.

In 2017, Molot-Oruzhiye OOO was added to the list of companies under import sanctions by the US Department of Treasury. This means that further imports are banned.  Due to the exceptional quality and rarity of these firearms, the Molot VEPR has transformed into a collectible heirloom.

The VEPR Rifle in 7.62x39 is the top of the line in Kalashnikov action semi-automatic rifles. With features such as; Hammer forged heavy barrel, (including a chrome lined barrel bore, chamber, gas block and gas piston), 1.5mm thick receiver, RPK front trunnion, spring loaded firing pin and side scope mount.  The VEPR is simply the highest quality rifle based on the Kalashnikov design.

Our rifle has the side scope mount with picatinny rail on top of the receiver, forward picatinny rail, 800 meter adjustable rear sight and vertical forward grip.  The metal finish is in Very Good condition.  The bore is good and the barrel is very bright.  The rifling appears to be strong as well.

If you want a top of the line, pre-ban, hard to find, Russian AK then this may be the one for you!

Purchase includes the rifle and sling as shown.  No magazine is included.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this rifle.  We have performed our function checks and find no issues.  As with all pre-owned firearms, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the rifle.
