Marlin

This beautiful Marlin 983 looks like it could have just rolled off the assembly line!  The owner tells us that he bought it for his daughter but that it was never fired.  We can't see anything that tells us otherwise.  It's absolutely pristine.  The serial number of 92639582 gives it a likely manufacturing date of 2008.

The rifle is chambered for the versatile 22 Magnum round and features a 22 inch micro-groove barrel.  The receiver is fed by a 12 shot tube magazine.  A manual safety sits just behind the bolt handle.  The stock is a beautiful checkered walnut Monte Carlo style.  The mounted rear sight is a folding leaf design and the front sight is a hooded ramp sight. 

You won't have to relay on the iron sights, however, as a Simmons 3-9 x 32 22Mag scope is already mounted on the rifle.  The glass and reticle are clear and the magnification, elevation and windage adjustments move freely.  The windage and elevation controls are under the capped turrets.  Each click equals 1/4 MOA.  The scope is in Near Mint condition.

Near Mint really describes the condition of the entire rifle.  The wood looks fantastic and is free of scratches and wear.  The buttpad is in Excellent condition as well.  The metal finish is intact and Near Mint.  The barrel looks new and is very bright and shiny.  The bore is Mint.  The muzzle crown is Near Mint and undamaged.  The trigger is firm, with no takeup and consistent on the break.

Take a good look through the attached photos and we think that you'll agree that this is a Near Mint rifle that you can't run out and buy at the local gun store.  It's been a while since Marlin made the 983 but you couldn't tell it by looking at this one.  If a bolt action 22 Mag is on your wants list, we think that this one can likely check that box.

Purchase includes the rifle and scope as shown, along with lens covers for the scope.  No case included.
