JC Higgins

We don't often get excited about J.C. Higgins shotguns but this consignment gun looks absolutely amazing!  We have not fired the gun but all function checks are correct and exactly as they should be.

This is a 12 Gauge, pump action with a 2-3/4" chamber. The ribbed barrel is 22" but that length does not include the 4-1/2" compensator at the end of the barrel.  This J.C. Higgins branded compensator accepts screw-in chokes and we have (1) long range choke that comes with the gun.  There is no serial number on the gun so manufacture date would be pre-1968.  The barrel is stamped J.C. Higgins Model 20 and Sears 583.60.

The action on this shotgun is truly silky smooth.  The butt pad is in excellent condition.  The wood grades somewhere between very good and excellent.  There are some honest wear marks but nothing that is through the finish.  Based on the age of the gun, we were surprised to see the wood in such great condition.  The trigger is light and very nice.  The barrel is very bright.  There is some finish loss at the end of the slide travel, which would be considered normal.  The remainder of the finish has no major knicks or scratches and only some very minor wear on some of the edges.

As with all used firearms, you should check the pictures to fully review condition of the gun for yourself.  We think at the $200 price point that the owner is asking that this in an incredible bargain.

Gun comes with a soft case and the one screw-in choke mentioned above.
