These IMI Model A Uzi rifles don't come around very often and they've long been considered the gold standard of pre-ban, semi-auto Uzis.  We have this one on consignment and it lives up to its reputation.  The Israeli Military Industries Uzi rifles were manufactured from 1980 - 1983 and then imported into the United States by Action Arms Ltd.  The serial number of SA 14343 puts this one right about in the middle of the production run.  The serial number on the barrel matches the receiver.

Chambered in 9mm, it has a 16.1" barrel, making it fully compliant with U.S. regulations.  The underfolding stock is not impacted by the recent ATF ruling regarding firearms with pistol braces due to the barrel length as well.  However, the stock is an incredibly attractive feature as it can be fully extended for use as a carbine or folded and stowed to feel more like a pistol or sub-machine gun.  Honestly, the fun and cool factors on this rifle are off the chart.

A sliding, manual safety is located on the left side of the frame and there is an additional grip safety contained within the pistol grip.  The rear sight is a flip type marked for 100 and 200 ranges.  The front sight is a military style post.  The barrel has a parkerized finish and the remainder of the frame is black.  Side sling swivels currently have an adjustable cloth sling attached.

Finish on the barrel rates as Very Good.  The remainder of the metal finish rates as Very Good as well.  There is some finish loss on the side of the grip safety from normal operation and is as expected.  The spring for the bolt is very strong.  The barrel is bright, the rifling is strong and the bore is clean.  Trigger is consistent with the feel of a mil-spec trigger.  The top edge of the barrel nut has some minor surface oxidation that is evident.  Otherwise, the rilfe shows signs of just good, honest use and we'd rate it overall as Very Good condition.

There have been lots of imitations that came after the IMI model Uzis but this is the original or, as we said earlier, the gold standard.  If you're looking to add a high quality, unique and hard to find firearm to your collection, this one won't disappoint!
