HM Defense

This is, in our opinion, the best built suppressed rifle on the market.  A great quality rifle, an incredibly effective suppressor, a price point that’s worth every penny and the fact that it’s integrally suppressed means that you only need one tax stamp for the suppressor.  No additional tax stamp required as this is not classified as a short barreled rifle.

If you’re not familiar with the HM Defense brand, it’s likely because 90-95% of their production has been going to US and allied military, law enforcement and the special operations community.  They’re just beginning to open up commercial production and that creates a great opportunity to own a battle-proven AR platform rifle that looks as great as it shoots. We think that the build quality of these rifles is equal to or better than some of the more well-known commercial brands that cost about twice as much.  It’s not just our opinion, either.  Our customers that have purchased these have come back to us as raving fans of HM Defense as well. 

In the Stealth model, the barrel, gas block and suppressor are all machined out of one solid piece of metal.  The 9 inch, match grade, button rifled barrel with a 1:7 twist leads to a 7.25 inch integral suppressor.  The 16.25 inch overall length keeps this out of short barreled rifle classification.

The bolt:  If there’s a weak point in the AR design, it’s in the bolt.  Typical AR bolts have the cam pin hole going all the way through the bolt.  That leaves just the two side walls of the bolt to absorb the recoil and twisting stress of normal firing.  The HMB bolt shortens the cam pin, eliminating the need to bore all the way through the bolt.  That gives you strength on three sides, eliminates friction on the firing pin and results in smoother operation, in addition to a bolt that will last significantly longer.

Overall, we think that this is pretty close to the perfect setup for a suppressed rifle.  The 300 Blackout chambering is ideal for suppressed shooting.  Ammunition is readily available in both supersonic and subsonic varieties and the Stealth will handle both of them.  Load out depending on your specific need at the time and know that you’ve got an accurate, reliable rifle that will deliver the results.

This is an NFA item due to the suppressor, as we mentioned.  If you’re picking up directly from us, we’ll gladly help with the paperwork required for your tax stamp.  ATF approval turn times have come down dramatically with many individuals receiving their tax stamp in less than a week.  If we’ll be shipping this rifle to a dealer closer to you, please make sure that your local shop has an SOT and is willing to handle NFA transfers.  There will be a brief delay (usually just a couple of days) in shipping as we receive our own ATF approval to transfer to another dealer.
