Hawes Firearms in Los Angeles, CA produced several models of handguns that were manufactured in Germany by J.P. Sauer & Sohn and then sold in the United States.  Our consignment revolver is the Western Marshal model, chambered in .357 Mag.  It's a very solid, sturdy piece as you'd expect from J.P. Sauer & Sohn.

The single action only firearm has a 6 inch barrel with a fixed front sight.  The fluted cylinder holds 6 shots, a side loading gate and spent cartridges are removed by an ejector rod that rests underneath the barrel.  Serial number is 2841/3 and the frame and barrel serial numbers match.

Grips are a smooth wood.  The back strap and trigger guard are a very attractive brass.

The grips are in Excellent condition with no observed defects.  The overall metal finish is Very Good.  There is some finish loss located primarily on the ejector rod shroud.  The revolver has a good bore and a bright barrel with rifling that appears to be strong and sharp.  The muzzle is in Very Good condition with no nicks or dings.

The action is smooth and feels much like a Colt Single Action Army.  The trigger is very smooth and light.  This trigger is ideally suited for accurate target shooting.

Overall, this is a very nice, quality-built example of a single action revolver.  Whether for display or shooting, this one does not disappoint.
