These artillery model Luger pistols are only becoming harder to find. This particular pistol came to us as a consignment and it’s a very nice example of this hard to find model. There are some non-matching parts and we’ve done our best to identify all of the numbered parts that are visible on the exterior of the pistol. We do not disassemble consignment firearms to view the numbers on the internal parts. The owner did tell us that the barrel was replaced by Jackson Armory. This pistol is also still a shooter and the owner tells us that it shoots great!
As with other artillery model Lugers, it has a 7.9” barrel. The rear sight is adjustable for distance and is calibrated to 800 meters.
Toggle proof on the pistol is from DWM. The right side of the frame has the military receiver proof. The chamber date is 1916, German military contract. It has a 1908 type safety marking.
The frame is stamped 4330. The barrel is stamped 6497. The takedown lever is 30. Side of the receiver is 6497. The sideplate is stamped 30. The top of the rear sight is marked 97. The sear bar and extractor are marked 97. The middle toggle link is 97 and the rear toggle is marked 97. The magazine is marked 425 with DWM military spare magazine and wood bottom proof marks.
The metal finish rates Good to Very Good and is not rusted. The grips are Good and the checkering is well defined.
Overall, this is a very nice example of an early model German military artillery Luger that is in great condition. If you’re a fan of the Luger pistol or want to start collecting Lugers, the artillery model is one that should be a part of your collection. Please take a good look at this one and see if it’s the right one for you!
Purchase includes the pistol as shown, one magazine, extra firing pin, cleaning rod.
This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this pistol. We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
