Doubletap Defense

This is an interesting derringer that came into the shop on consignment.  DoubleTap Defense manufactured these in a couple of different calibers but ours is chambered in 9mm.  Serial number is DA11175.

A true pocket pistol, this carries two rounds of 9mm ammunition loaded in a tip-up double barrel design.  Two additional rounds can be carried in the grip in a rubberized speed loading device.  There's also an additional device that holds six rounds that is not stored in the pistol.  These were designed for normal 9mm loads and not for +P.

The non-ported stainless steel barrels are three inches long and are loaded by sliding an ambi thumb latch on the frame.  That releases the barrels to the "tip-up" position.  There is a rear sight channel and a front sight but these are really "get off me" pistols that are designed for close-range self defense.  The pistol frame is aluminum and the grip panels are textured.  The pistol is fired sequentially by internal hammers.  Pull the trigger for the first round, let the trigger fully reset and then fire the second round. The pistol is approximately 0.665 inches wide and weighs 15 ounces.

We believe this pistol to be unfired but we have listed it as "used" since the firearm has been previously owned.  The entire pistol is in Like New condition and shows no handling or storage marks.  It probably looks today just like it did when it rolled off the assembly line.

This is a unique, unusual design and we don't usually see a lot of them on the market.  It's a conversation piece, for sure, and worth taking a look at if you like derringer pistols.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this pistol.  We have performed all function checks and find no issues.  As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the pistol.
