If you love or collect Colt 1911 pistols, this one that we have on consignment is definitely worth a look.

This Colt Commander 70 Series was shipped by Colt to its original owner in January, 1971.  A certification letter from the Office of the Colt Historian that documents the pistol is included with your purchase.  Serial number is 70SC1834.

The steel frame pistol is chambered in .45ACP, has a magazine capacity of 8+1 and a 4.25" barrel.  Finish is Satin Nickel which is the more rare and hard to find option among the finish choices from that time.

The wood grips with the silver Colt medallion are in near mint condition.  There are no scratches, no chips and no cracks and they show only light handling, with no evident wear on the grips.

The bore is bright, the barrel is bright and the rifling is strong.  The frame and slide have no major defects and show only evidence of light handling.

We'd rate this pistol in an overall excellent conditio.  The combination of the rare finish, the overall condition and the certification from Colt make this pistol a great find and a really, really nice addition to your collection.

The pistol could use a thorough cleaning and lubrication.  We tested just a few areas and any residue came off easily with minimal effort, showing bright and beautiful areas underneath.  Quite honestly, we believe that it simply wasn't cleaned after its last use and we found no cause for concern whatsoever.

Purchase includes the pistol, certification letter from the Office of the Colt Historian, padded holster with belt clip and a total of 8 magazines from various manufacturers.  Two of the magazines are Colt branded.  If you pick up from us locally, the owner will throw in a hard plastic ammo can and approximately 250 rounds of 45ACP ammo.  If this is an online purchase where we are shipping the pistol, the ammunition and ammo can are not included in the purchase.

This is a consignment gun and, like all of our consignment firearms, we have not test fired the pistol.  We have performed all function checks and find no issues.  Like all used firearm purchases, please make sure that you have carefully viewed all of the photos so that you are fully comfortable with the gun.
