Colt

We love these vintage Colt revolvers.  Classic look, classic feel and just solidly built revolvers.

Colt made the Mark III Troopers from 1969 - 1983.  Ours has serial number Y27364 and was manufactured in 1980.  They originally came in four different calibers and three different barrel lengths with the 22 WMR (22 Mag) being the more rare of the models.

The barrel is a solid rib barrel with an adjustable rear sight and a ramp front sight.  The grips are walnut target grips and feature the Colt medallion.  Action is either single action or double.  The single action trigger pull is light and easy and the double action has the normal double action feel.  The cylinder release is smooth and easy.

The barrel is bright and the rifling is strong.  The bore is clean.  The grips look fantastic and are in Very Good condition.  There are no knicks or cracks and the checkering is strong and crisp.  The blued finish is bright and looks fantastic, showing very little wear.  There are, however, three imperfections in the finish that we need to note.  There is one area where the finish is marred on the left side of the barrel, about one inch back from the muzzle.  There is a scratch on the left side of the frame just above the trigger.  There is a scratch on the right side of the frame just behind the trigger.  We've shown each of those areas in a photo.  Candidly, none of those would deter us from the revolver because the rest of it looks fantastic and the model itself is hard to come by.  However, we want to be complete in our description so they are noted here.

Overall, this is a fine example of a classic, vintage Trooper Mark III.  If you've been looking for one, you know that they aren't easy to find in 22 Mag.  This one is worth a good, long look and would be a great addition to your collection.
