This consignment 1976 Python is not pristine.  We wish that it was and so does the owner.  The current owner inherited this one and, unfortunately, the previous owner had stored this in a leather holster for a good many years.  That didn’t do the finish any favors.  Having said that, this is still a mid-70s Python that is in mechanically sound condition and suffers only from the cosmetic finish blemishes that we mentioned before.

The revolver is chambered in 357 Magnum, has a 2.5” vent rib barrel and wears serial number 16383E.  The rear sight is adjustable and the front sight is fixed.  The cylinder holds six rounds of either .357 Mag or 38 Special.

The grips are checkered walnut with the Colt medallion and are in excellent condition.

The barrel is bright, the bore is good and the rifling is good.  Lockup is tight and the action is smooth.

In terms of the blued finish, please take a very good look at the photos.  We’ve done our best to try and show all of the blemishes.  Nothing appears to be deep but there are a number of areas where the finish has been removed by storage in the holster as we mentioned earlier.

Overall, we find that the cosmetic blemishes are our only complaint on this revolver.  The owner has priced accordingly and this one is ready to go!
