Colt

This fantastic vintage Colt revolver came to us as a consigment sale as part of a collection that had come out of an estate.  It's a beautiful example of the classic Colt style of yesterday.  The New Frontier models were made by Colt from 1970 - 1977 and then again from 1982 - 1986.  Our serial number of G57653 shows that it was manufactured in 1972.  They came in a few different barrel lengths and were much like the Peacemaker 22 Scout but with a flat top.  Some were produced with another 22 Mag cylinder.  It's unknown if ours was one that had the additional cylinder or not as this 22LR cylinder is the only one that we have.

The rear sight is adjustable and the front sight is a standard ramp.  The frame is a beautiful color case hardened finish while the barrel is a blued finish.  The grips are Colt black plastic.  The revolver is single action only and the hammer does have a half cock position.  The barrel on this particular revolver is the less common 4.4 inch version.  The bore is clean, the barrel is bright and the rifling appears strong.  The trigger is light and consistent.

The blued finish is in Very Good condition.  The color case hardened finish is in Excellent condition while the grips are also in Excellent condition.  Overall, we'd grade this revolver as Excellent as well.  If a vintage Colt revolver is on your wants list, this one would be a very nice addition to your collection.

This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this revolver.  We have performed our function checks and find no issues to report.  As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are fully comfortable with the condition of the revolver.
