Browning

This consignment sale is from one of our regular customers that has brought some exceptionally nice firearms to us.  This Browning Bolt Action is no different.  It's a gorgeous rifle and is in amazing condition.

These Browning (FN) High Power Bolt Action rifles were made by FN in a variety of different grades and calibers.  Ours is a Safari grade, chambered in the powerful 375 H&H Magnum.  Manufactured in 1971, the serial number is 62201 L71.

The 24 inch barrel has a good bore, very bright barrel and sharp rifling.  The rear sight is a folding leaf and the ramp front sight is hooded.

While we did not perform the silver nitrate test, there is nothing to indicate that this is one of the salt stocks.  Those were mostly out of production by 1971 and this stock has none of the common signs.  In fact, the wood is just beautiful.  The wood grain has lots of character, the finish is Near Mint, the checkering on the forearm and the pistol grip is sharp and crisp.  The stock shows only the lightest signs of use and the color, finish and condition really make this one sharp looking rifle.  A Pachmayr recoil pad sits at the end of the stock and is in the same Near Mint condition.

The Mauser-type action is smooth and slick.  The trigger is very light and very smooth.  It would be a real pleasure to shoot.  Both the trigger guard and the hinged floor plate feature attractive engraving.

All of the metal on the rifle is in Excellent condition with the exception of some scratches that are limited to the front sight ramp.  Beyond those, the barrel and receiver are fantastic.

Overall, this is a beautiful rifle that's capable of bringing down the biggest and most dangerous game, along with a wide variety of other animals, but with manageable recoil.  You won't find this model in this condition very often.  If you're looking for a reliable, accurate hunting rifle, this one certainly fits the bill and you won't find a lot of others like it.
