Vintage World War II Era Beretta Model 1935 in 7.65x17mm Browning SR (.32 ACP) Semi-Auto Pistol was made in Italy in 1940. Features Blowback Action, 3.5” barrel length, 6” overall length, front blade & rear notch-bar fixed sights, polished stainless steel serrated slide and frame, 8+1 capacity and original bake-lite grips. Stamped on the slide is "P. BERETTA – Cal. 7.65 BREVETTATA – GARDONE VT 1940-XVIII".

“The Beretta M1935 is a compact .32 ACP caliber blowback pistol that was manufactured in Italy by Beretta. In the early 1930s, the Italian army was impressed by the Walther PP pistol. Beretta did not want to lose a big Italian military contract and designed the compact M1934 for the Italian army, which accepted it in 1937. The M1935 is simply an M1934, modified to fire .32 ACP ammunition. It is made out of carbon steel with plastic grips. It is fitted with a manual safety and another safety on the hammer and when the last shot has been fired the slide is retained open by the empty magazine. The magazine capacity is 8 rounds. As this pistol was built for the Italian army, all parts were interchangeable, which simplified maintenance and manufacturing: a first at the time.”

Slide and receiver have matching serial numbers. The barrel is surprisingly bright and the rifling is strong and evident.  The safety is stiff, likely from lack of use, but functions correctly.  The trigger is firm.  There is normal finish aging on both the flats and the top of the slide.  This is normal for wartime production of the Model 1935.  The grips are in very good condition.  Serial number is in the range where it might have been issued to the Italian Air Force but does not have the Air Force stamp on the pistol.  More than likely, this is an Army-issued version.  Condition for a WWII surplus Beretta is truly remarkable.

Pistol comes with: (2) 8 round Beretta magazines, and leather shoulder holster stamped 1943.  In spite of the date stamp, this is likely a reproduction holster.

As with all used pistols, please review the photos carefully so that you can see the condition of the pistol.
