This American Western Arms, The PeaceKeeper, chambered in 45LC is also known as the Model 1873 Single Action Army revolver.  It's a consignment offering, so we haven't fired it, but there are a lot of things about this revolver that are truly impressive.

First, a bit of history on the gun.  American Western Arms set out to produce replica revolvers of the Colt PeaceMaker.  They were a little too successful in that venture.  Colt sued American Western Arms alleging a variety of trademark infringements and ultimately prevailed in court.  American Western Arms was forced to cease production after only a couple of years of manufacturing the revolver.  What you have for sale here is a rare, well-built, accurate firearm that was only able to be produced in a limited number of guns.

The lawsuit from Colt is further interesting because, when we worked the action of this revolver, all of us commented that it felt even smoother than a Colt Python or Anaconda.  The action is as smooth as butter and may be one of the smoothest that we've felt.  The trigger pull after working the action is just as impressive.  It's very smooth with a nice, clean and light break.  The hammer sping is very strong.  The hammer has safety, half cock and full cock positions.

The black, checkered grips are another reminder of Colt.  The designs in the grip, including a running horse will bring an image of Colt to the forefront.  These grips show no wear.  Screw heads on the revolver do not show any use.  The barrel is bright, the rifling appears strong.  The ejector rod is straight and true.

The frame is a beautiful color case hardened design.  The barrel and cylinder are blued.  The frame is like new with no damage.  The barrel is also like new with the exception of a very small mark on the left side, near the muzzle.  It is barely perceptible and we mention it only so that our description is complete.  We think that this revolver is about as close to new as you can get but, as with all used guns, you should carefully review all pictures so that you can determine condition for yourself.

Besides the smooth action and trigger, these revolvers are known as very accurate shooters.  If this were in a well-used condition, it would be a great find.  With the near new condition of this gun, it's an incredible find.

In addition to the revolver, you'll receive the original foam-lined hard case with the correct serial number on the sticker and the original manual.
